The Foot Shooting Party

evandiem The tight production and extremely potent hooks carry this album. Still Ryan's lyrical cleverness and genuine comedy chops shine through at many points, without turning this into a "comedy music" album. Collaborations from some folks I already like by their own merits (Rachel Miller and Boy Jr.) elevate this project by blending seamlessly into it, not seeming tacked on. Water Signs is my favorite but NDA deserves a great shout as well. Favorite track: Water Signs.

Water Signs 02:58
I'd never seen anyone in their underwear before I'd never stuck around to see what's under there for sure But Ava used to tell it like it is Said there's more to life than wives and kids But I'd never seen anybody else in their underwear An American flag and string lights on a conifer An American dream in a town full of commoners But Ava always made it crystal clear Romance only lasts a fiscal year But I'd never really tried to just be myself before In dire straights on my flight Who's gonna love me in the middle of the night Got off the plane only to find Ava's still raising cain in my mind she Replies I'm such a water sign I don't even know what that means Don't try if you're seeking dollar signs You can't make a living off dreams But oh my love is a fever I'll love her still then I'll leave her she Replies I'm such a water sign Fish don't have a say in these things anyway I'd never seen anyone in their underwear before A decade later and now I'm too cool to care and poor But bloodied and bruised I stagger on And when all my stab wounds are gone I'll forget the pain and remember the reason I swam ashore Oh my God I know I can take it I can hear her words in my head She replies I'm such a water sign I don't even know what that means Don't try if you're seeking dollar signs You can't make a living off dreams But oh my love is a fever I'll love her still then I'll leave her she Replies I'm such a water sign Fish don't have a say in these things anyway

LA's not much of a view Bitter thoughts bitter thoughts They're best kept a secret Success ain't following you Better thoughts better thoughts They're just out of reach it's Enough to give you a panic attack-ack-ack Enough to give you a A City ripe to pollute Dry heat and Summer smoke Bake me to pieces We're lost with nothing to lose Except that first month's deposit for Breaking our leases You're a noose, You're old news You're unused to loving like we used to You're too afraid to be wrong and that's what's wrong with that Take dirty looks that you gave me to the laundromat You're too afraid that you'll fail and that's self sabotage Once all that weight's off your back you'll need a back massage Breathing smoke isn't great for an asthmatic My lungs are stuck in traffic I'd rather just not have it All the stars in the sky wouldn't employ me I'd eat my weight in soy meat Those rich kids would destroy me LA's not much of a home Bitter thoughts bitter thoughts Are best kept a secret I've got me some dreams of my own Better thoughts better thoughts They're just out of reach, kid You're too afraid to be wrong and that's what's wrong with that Take dirty looks that you gave me to the laundromat You're too afraid that you'll fail and that's self sabotage Once all that weight's off your back you'll need a back massage You're terrified that you'll fail you poor unhappy soul Keep taking shots at my face behind your grassy knoll You're so afraid that you go off like a firecracker Once you pull your head down from there you'll need a chiropractor

NDA 02:05
I guess baby that's show biz So those in the industry say If I'm cast as her love interest She'll make me sign an NDA That's Hollywood politics Love is dead or say the Gen Z say Love's as real as the profit is If you adhere to a NDA I signed a nondisclosure agreement To keep both our involvements a secret If you want to shake hands with behemoths You'll have to sign your love away She won't hold my hand at the grove Hell what would Ryan Seacrest say I just eat my fancy lunch alone Because she made me sign an NDA I can't disclose that I love my woman I can't say if I met her at all But when the camera's gone There's no more show then She hangs my picture on the wall I guess baby that's the city of stars And for your consideration campaigns Consider me for the leading part But don't make me sign no NDA Don't make me sign no NDA I signed a nondisclosure agreement To keep both our involvements a secret If you want to shake hands with behemoths You'll have to play how the Emmy's play You'll have to write that damn screenplay That's Hollywood baby anyway You'll have to sign an NDA

You say it's not your fault I don't think it's my fault either No cards, no crystal balls Baby I'm not your mind reader Let's set the table Let's try to talk it out I don't think I'm able To just go on without You, it's all about you It's all about us Don't care what it's about cause I've had enough Here we go again How am I supposed to be your friend If you never let me know about it Never let me know about Never let me know about Never let me know about it Been talking to the wall Having better conversation It listens when I talk With you all I get is frustration No more excuses Half-assed apologies I'm tired of telling you The person that you ought to be You, it's all about you It's all about us Don't care what it's about cause I've had enough Here we go again How am I supposed to be your friend If you never let me know about it Never let me know about Never let me know about Never let me know about it I want to work it out Is that a fantasy You're not the handsome knight They sent to rescue me As far as I'm concerned You're the one in distress Damsels don't have to be Helplessness in a dress I want to work it out Is that a fantasy You're not the handsome prince They sent to rescue me As far as I'm concerned You're the one in distress Damsels don't have to be Helplessness in a dress You, it's all about you It's all about us Don't care what it's about cause I've had enough Here we go again How am I supposed to be your friend If you never let me know about it Never let me know about Never let me know about Never let me know about it Ah!

Astray 02:42
Am I wrong Or did I break in two When you broke into My heart Were you right Were you lead astray By letting in a stray In the dark Dark Once I opened The horror's scoping Out the stars in the sky How could I let go Archipelago Floating inside my mind Mind, mind Am I weak Disappointed and displaced Cursed to stay in this place While I'm falling apart Were you right Were you lead astray By letting in a stray In the dark Dark Once I opened The horror's scoping Out the stars in the sky How could I let go Archipelago Floating inside my mind How could I let go How could I let go
